Language Arts : What is a wetland?
1. Informational Text
Reading, Informal Text, Kindergarten Exp. First Grade Exp.R.IT.00.01 identify and describe the basic form and purpose of a variety of
informational genre including environmental text, concept books, and picture books.

  • What specific content standards are involved?
  • 1) Reading and undestanding content information. Understanding different types of text. ( Provide newspapers, concept books and picture books for viewing and investagating.)


a. Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers,experts, or others employing a variety of digitalenvironments and media.
  • a) Students will build a power point with the teacher to show their final project.
  • b) What related goals (NETS, 21Ct skills, district or school mission, etc.) Students will use technology to produce evidance of their findings. Some examples would include, using wiki spaces to record information and use computer programs such as word or power point to make prsentations.
  • c) Publish with peers and digital media ( students will work together on a smart board with teacher gathering information and post their findings.
  • What are the Big Ideas, principles and processes that are addressed by this standard?
  • 3) Identify content information, Describe content with peers and implament lesson with peers and discuss with peers. (Small group prsentations. could act out a story,put on a play or give a speech.)
